Skagen a lifestyle brand that specializes in contemporary watches, jewelry and leather goods for men and women, will open a store in Paris, France, on June 17, 2016. Located at 142 Avenue des Champs Élysées, the new store will occupy 70 square meters in the House of Denmark building. It will be the brand’s first dedicated retail space in France and its ninth worldwide.
The decision to expand to a global fashion capital such as Paris was a natural one for SKAGEN, which has long maintained a strong wholesale presence throughout France.
“The opportunity to represent ourselves in a renowned fashion and shopping city like Paris is one we’re incredibly excited about,” says Anne Cashill, senior vice president of SKAGEN. “The new store will make SKAGEN more readily available not only to fashionable Paris locals but to millions of tourists that visit here each year.”
The store will comprise two rooms designed with a clean, contemporary feel reflective of the brand’s aesthetic
The streetfacing retail space will showcase SKAGEN’s latest collections in a variety of open displays that allow for customers to engage and interact with products. The second room, separated from the main showroom by a courtyard, will be used as a customization studio where customers can have their purchases engraved or embossed with a message of their choosing—a personalization hallmark of the brand.
The store’s design blends warm, natural materials with innovative technology, such as a projection system that will display a range of behindthescenes videos, art installations and product images. As an homage to Paris and the art of time telling, the projectors will simulate a twinkling effect synced with the Eiffel Tower’s hourly light show.
